Collapse ▲Blog posts have become one of the more popular methods for spreading awareness and starting important discussions. Younger generations have found great opportunities to be heard in using blog posts to create unique and important platforms. However, some find the simplicity that blog post writing requires to be a difficult skill to master.
We want to provide potential and current bloggers with 5 tips to success.
- Discover your writing style and voice. An important part of reaching your target audience on a personal level is your writing style. Writing a good blog post requires taking into account your “voice” and using it to create material that is easy for your audience to understand and appreciate.
- Know how to gain your audience’s attention using the first sentence. A bloggers website traffic is dependent upon their audience being interested in learning more. Placing an attention grabber that intrigues and keeps your audience wanting to know more draws in more traffic and creates a greater chance of higher engagement for future blog material.
- Use short sentences, paragraphs, subheadings and appealing photos. Blog post readers like to skim to evaluate the quality of the material in front of them. While a captivating image can draw readers in, short sentences, paragraphs and subheadings make this skimming much easier.
- Always outline! Lack of clarity and focus can be a huge threat to blogger’s success. Create an outline to gather and organize your thoughts before composing your final draft.
- Research and use proper citations. Take time to do some research and make the blog material useful. Use hyperlinks to cite the resources you discover and reference in your blog.
